The Cupcake Ward Cookbook By Georgie Sussman
December 7th 2010 sees the launch of a new cookbook to raise funds for a new ward at Great Ormond Street Children's Hospital (GOSH) called the Cupcake Ward .
Georgie Sussman is my twelve year old daughter who wanted to do something to really make a difference, not just to someone she knows but to lots of children.
One of her family friends is a four year old girl who has spent a lot of time at GOSH and it was because of this Georgie was inspired to raise a huge amount of money to help sick children.
Georgie decided that she was going to put together a cookbook and sell it to her family and friends and as the saying goes from little acorns grow great oak trees.
From this seed of an idea, Georgie decided she would ask not only her family and friends for their recipes but also some of her favourite cooks and celebrities if they would donate a recipe too.
There were so many celebrities, friends and family who donated their recipes that The Cupcake Ward Cookbook is now a fantastic book with over 90 fabulous dessert recipes.
With recipes from celebrities and chefs, including Nigella, Raymond Blanc, Antony Worral Thompson, Sophie Dahl, Santa Montefiore, Gino D'Acampo, Richard E Grant, Mel C, Patsy Kensit, Amanda Holden, Delia Smith, Ina Garten and Pixie Lott to name a few.
This brilliant book has been mostly underwritten so that nearly every penny made from sales will go to GOSH's new Cupcake Ward.
Georgie is aiming to raise between £15,000 - £20,000 by selling her cookbook and we hope that the public are as generous as the celebrities have been.
